ACN has contributed to the development of pistachio nurseries, both in Spain and in the Middle East. We have also been the generous source for the grafting of thousands of hectares in Spain with the varieties "Kerman" and "Peters" from our original, ready grafted plants imported from S & J Ranch, Wood (Ca) in 1978.

We have done great work in plant selection of rootstocks ADAPTED to the soil and climate conditions of the Iberian Peninsula. The "Torrebesses" hybrid rootstock based on closed pollination of rootstocks locally adapted and selected by us from the P. Integerrima and P. Atlantica varieties is of particular importance. This hybrid rootstock has fully replaced the previous rootstocks of Pistacia Atlantica, Integerrima and Therebintus, and is experiencing on the Peninsula an evolution similar to the one that took place in California with the hybrids from the University of California, 20 years ago (by 2015).

We cannot fail to mention the work carried out in collaboration with the University of Lleida - Faculty of Agricultural Engineers: in Entomology with the Department of Professor Dr. Ramón Albagés and in Plant Pathology with the Department of Professor Dr. Juan Pedro Marín and the Laboratory directed by Dr. Jaume Almacellas.

Over the years we have established Pistachio plantations in Spain (Andalusia, Extremadura, La Mancha, Murcia, Castilla León and Catalonia) and in the south of France. Our approach has been to capitalize on our R&D know-how through consultancy activities involving pistachio farmers and customers of the nursery.

Technical support for the Clients of Our Nursery is always free and comprehensive, covering all aspects of the cultivation and management of plantations.

In 2010, our technology represented 30% of the planted surface in Spain and around 90% of actual production in kilos of the entire pistachio production on the Iberian Peninsula. Logically, these percentages will decrease over time with the entry into production of many hundreds of hectares of new plantations in which we have not been involved; however, these percentages do highlight the great role played by ACN S.L. through Casa Sant Roc S.L. (Torrebesses - Spain) in the introduction of the Pistachio cultivation in Spain since 1978. Visit: www.viverosdepistachocsr.com)
